VINTAGE BELL SYSTEM "TIME FINDER" ROTATING CALCULATOR (1942)

Description

THIS IS A CARDBOARD ROTATING CALCULATOR, MADE FOR THE BELL SYSTEM (AT&T), IN 1942.  ITS' PURPOSE WAS TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE TO MAKE PHONE CALLS AROUND THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD, BY KNOWING THE DIFFERENT TIME ZONES.  DURING THE WAR YEARS, CALLS WERE SUBJECT TO DELAYS, DUE TO MATERIAL SHORTAGES REQUIRED TO ADD NEW CIRCUITS.  THESE WERE ALSO THE DAYS WHEN LONG-DISTANCE CALL REQUIRED AN OPERATOR!  GREAT BIT OF TELECOMMUNICATION MEMORABILIA!
